| Have you ever had a speeding ticket or a fine as a result of going too fast in your vehicle? I am pretty sure that anyone who has ever owned a vehicle or has their driver's license has had a speeding ticket at one time or another in their lives. Even if a person has gotten caught driving even just one kilometer over the speed limit. The police are very strict about this and they can not let even the smallest thing get by, for if they do, it could result in someone's life. There is no set price on how much a speeding ticket is. They will all be different costs, it all depends on how fast you were caught going and also it depends on the amount of traffic violations that you have on record (if there are any) and one would assume, how good of a mood that the judge is in that day and finally what province, state or country that you reside in. Not too many people are aware of the exact costs of speeding tickets. They usually vary in price depending on how fast you were going in a certain zone. An example would be, if you were caught going one hundred and ten kilometers in a zone where you can only go seventy kilometers. The prices are different from state to state and from country to country so we can not really discuss any set price at this point. Did you know that in Ontario Canada, if you get a speeding ticket for speeding fifty kilometers per hour over the set speed limit, that you can have your license suspended for up to thirty days? You can also lose up to six demerit points (demerit points will be discussed in upcoming article: see Speeding: Demerit points). Another important note to consider is that when you get a speeding ticket for going over fifty kilometers per hour over the speed limit, it is considered to be a major insurance conviction and this will affect the cost of your insurance by literally thousands of dollars every year. Not a good thing now is it? If you have any speeding tickets on your driving record than your insurance company will deal with it accordingly and will end-up bringing up your insurance rates, which as we all know will result in higher monthly payments. That is not really good news for someone who gets a lot of speeding tickets! Many people are unaware of this but the actual price of a speeding ticket will be much different than the amount that was marked on the ticket itself. Most insurance companies (if not all of them) are just looking for ways to make money and they see speeding tickets as a way to cash in on profit. These may be strict guidelines but I am sure that people understand after they blow off the initial steam and they realize that it could have been worse and they could have harmed or god forbid maybe killed another person. That is why the law is so strict on speeding and they hand out speeding tickets/fines. The next life that is saved because of this may be yours, so count yourself lucky and pay the fine! | ||
